About Fast Insurance Group
Fast Insurance Group publishes free, plain-English guides for people in the US shopping for auto, home, renters and life insurance, and for small business owners buying their first commercial policies.
Why we exist
Insurance is one of the biggest recurring bills most households have, and one of the hardest to compare. Policies use unfamiliar terms, prices for the same coverage vary from company to company, and the cheapest quote can leave gaps you only find out about after a loss. We write the guides we wish we'd had: what each coverage does, how much you're likely to need, and how to compare quotes on equal terms.
What we cover
- Auto insurance: Liability limits, collision, comprehensive, and what actually moves your rate.
- Home insurance: What a homeowners policy covers, the gaps it leaves, and how to size dwelling coverage.
- Renters insurance: Cheap protection for your belongings and liability, and how much coverage to buy.
- Life insurance: Term versus permanent, how much coverage your family needs, and how buying works.
- Small business insurance: General liability, BOPs, workers comp and the policies clients and landlords ask for.
Who we are

Fast Insurance Group is published by Marcus L. Barber through Digital Solomon, a small digital publishing and marketing studio based in Gastonia, North Carolina. Marcus held a Maryland property and casualty insurance producer license from 2010 to 2012. That background in how auto, home and business policies are sold shapes what our guides explain and the questions they tell you to ask.
Marcus is not currently a licensed insurance producer in any state. Fast Insurance Groupis an independent publisher, not an insurance company, agent or broker. We don't sell policies, and our guides are general education, not advice for your situation. For advice on a specific policy, talk to an agent licensed in your state.
How we're funded
We earn money when readers use some of our partner links. That never changes what you pay, and it doesn't change what our guides say. Read the details in how we make money and our editorial standards.
